GOURDS

That was a weekend.

Happy Happy Joy Joy to the Lizard,

a niece far less older than Myself.

Turkey & a new car, yet...

*

It took us all week to fill up

the roll=offs...sometimes in

twinkling darkness.

*

There is some post=election

engrungement of issues. But the

state=wide legislators round here

Opted out of pay raises on the eve

of a two month vacation. Now,

speaking as someone who gets an

unpaid long respite, i can almost

sympathise. Almost.

Meanwhile~there is a flat rate

on the toll road. So, while the going

is good, travel long & far to the ends

of the Weal=Common. [altho, for the

best gas prices, you'll still have to

drop into a local venue.] Roll on!

I am being satiric.

*

Honestly~i once made a fried cheese

sandwich that resembled the Last

Supper...but seeing that the Tomato

soop was simmering so good on that

summer day, it went the way of all

considered consumption. Curse the

Poverty i must now rue & regret!

*

My dremes are tuned in. Bizarre,

but tuned in. It's the Turkey i suspect.

[Experiment~eat breasts & legs for an

entire year and make note of the

ensuing hallucinations.] Don't forget

the gravy...it contains a mild form of

lysurgic acid dyethylamide. Or so

i've heard. On the web.

*

Where in the name of Elizabeth Shue

was i? OH! Yeah...the Slack is firmly

determined not to purchase any item

which depends on 1970's rock music for

its Boomer=trended advertisemente.

[they are too numerous to mention]

Moreover, shouldn't a generation be

outraged {any generation} that their most

precious cultural icons/moments are

subverted to commercial purposes?

Advise the slack who posits a cott=boy

of One. Cleverness aside, Don't we

already have a Museum in Cleveland?

/that's the first & possibly last time that

Clever*...Clevel* would be used in a

threaded sentence/

STAND=DOWN ONE

Stand Down from Alert~

The Dancer is busy with

her students...WE'll hear

from her soon enough.

Patience...and Love.

*

Friday, November 26, 2004

It was a perfect bird...is everybody

full yet? No? Well, here, have anothre

slab of pie! [slice, dollop, slice]

It'll take us a coupla days before the

turkey is strippt enough for the annual

boiling of the bones. I'm all about

making the soop, ultimately.

OH! Yeah~gotta send out gratitudinal

regards to all the people who sent me

GivingThanks Greets. A small but

sincere group of regular Friends...

{What more could one Want?}

It's cold outside but warm within the

cockles. And the Television is

topsy=turvy with special programming.

It is enough to baffle the ordinary mind.

[there should be one or two channels

that don't yank out all the musty dusty

HOLIDAY favourites...foreshadowing

Nothing but the arrival of yet another

November day. I could dreme, no?]

Also---the traffic won't be normal

until Monday morning at the soonest.

SO~drive the careful & considerate

for...HECK, why not the remainder of

And 4? Even our carriages are only

heaping bits of metal careening blobs

of hydroplasm from point A to point B.

Slow down already! The Universe

doesn't care if you shaved twenty

minutes off your remaining sixty=odd

years~she is Eternal and Extant.

Like Hane. Here, help me finish off

this Wing with salt & pepper. And

maybe just a smidge of Gravy.

[grip, chew, schlurp, smack]

*

flip the flip & bounce the bounce...

Lotsa thankful pages out there.

AND, if there is a reincarnation,

i hope to G i don't come back as an

eleven pound domesticated Fowl!

I so hate being pulled apart and

thrown into a pot=stock. Even if

my pecs were flaky, juicy.

HAM SOOP/ASIDE

Tuesday, 23 November, 2004

What does the Slack do for the

Turkey Day? He cooks a free

11 & 1/2 pound Bird with Hane

screaming in the background.

We'll just let that slide 4 now.

*

It's really only Tuesday as i

write this...And me & the green

ghost have had quite the work=out.

The bank, the farmacy & then the

Grocery schtore which was filled

with Amazing people who are much

the doing @ leisure what i accomplisht

in half a hour. Excepting, of gourse,

that i forgot the Apple=sauce.

{Not traditional so much as what Hane

craves} Two bogo Pumpkin Pies,

which the Matriarch of one is baking

right now. Hane has the tendency

to rise to the occasion; which is a

beautiful thing to regard, considering

She takes heart meds & breathes

purified Oxygen! To think of all the

dinosaurs she had to kill in the old

days. On dirt roads paved by

Neanderthals, no less.

[facetious & jocular, that^]

*

Don't mess with the Tigre, for you'll

be torn 17 strips from Sunday.

Then~i unloaded my tank=sedan on

the kitchen floor and had to make

an accounting of all purchases.

It's a management course as we

travel along. Did i mention that i

forgot the Apple=sauce? I've still

got the bite=marks. MeeRoww!

* *

It was almost dark when i went to

the Laundromat. To warsh my jeans

and two of Hane's heavy laden cotton

robes. You know it's the Holiday

season when you have to purge all

the stains outta the Big White Robes.

{Honestly: i don't believe a person is

crippled if they manage to wear

twelve pounds of day=garments.}

Maybe we just have too many clothes.

Never mind~it was dark late & long

to the night when the green=ghost

brang home the cleanliness.

Now, we just have to figger out how

to de=thaw the turkey bird in time

for Thursday. Me? i gotta werk

tomorro & hold the proverbial fort.

Maybe Gary will bring anothre

cheeseburger...It could be hoped

that i will arise brightly to whatever

occurs. Twas ever Thus!

I would brine this bird but i don't

live close enuf to the Ocean.

Nevertheless, i will try to remember

as i warsh poor old Tom to take out

the Vitals which reside [in plastic]

within his eviscerated carcass.

Note 4 other cooks: do not feed

these entrails to your pets! It is

a very bad thing all=togethre.

Dang i do miss Julia Child and the

Frugal Gourmet around this time.

Eviscerated carcass?? What am i?

An English Major? Perchance.

Regardless of that, i stole my pay

check today...in the cool fine drizzle.

And rescued yet anothre Vonnegut

book from the recycling toters.

[a collection of granfalloons i don't

remember reading.] Thereyago.

Any=way, cook the good and heart

filled most excellent meal, y'all.

AND if i am not in a whipped topping

and triptophan coma tomorro

evening---maybe i'll post & bounce

all the especial blessings. Or watch

football in the basement while

listening to Vinyl records...

November 22, 2004...

John Kennedy was a young

President killed by a nervous

psychopath in Dallas many

years ago. And although much

water has passed under that

bridge, the Event is fixed in the

historic memory. And still affects

an aging generation. Just ask

the Chairman of the Judiciary

committee. OR, anyone who

attended the opening of the

Clinton library. I'm pondering

things that happened while most

of my panties were rubberized.

Never mind~we still grieve of that

horrible occurence. PRAY our lives

today force that violence to the back

water of Human Consciousness.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Giving Thanks! As i bounce the many

pages i find that most of my peeps are

planning a moderate or lesser Feast.

That's a good thing! Who really needs

to cook a 30 pound turkey for two dozen

people or less? Altho~i'm not going to

fault the great cooks who do it up right

and get raves from all their invited

guests. G bless 'em! And, when everyone

is collapsed on that communal couch,

loosening their belts, sleepily watching the

Ball=Foot Game...Take a slight moment

to remember our ancestors who escaped

Persecution 2 find a New Werld. OR

the far flung soldiers who have sacrificed

more than a leg or wing to safeguard our

Ability to Celebrate. Their blood has paid

for our Gravy. And we are all still fighting

for the Freedom. Pause in prayer as you

battle with your own elders about how

the left=overs should be Refrigerated.

Tomorrow~they might forget you alltogether,

Or fight resolutely 2 stay in their own home

which they made for you. Better yet,

regard the small faces with shining eyes

who believe after such a filling dinner that

"Santa is Coming, tomorrow!"

{even tho, Xmas is a month away}

Remember that you were just as precocious

a child. Their future is open=wide, like

their pupils. Kiss them fervently.

Take a picture~it lasts the long.

And fortunately, the Camera captures all

the subtlety which i have Described.

Beauty, Truth & Gratitude.

The delicious food is also good.

{Enjoy the Day~there's only 364 others}

SATIRICON

Saturday, November 13, 2004...

Music: ZZTop

Mood: Facetious

Thot: "what a vast wilderness is the

unencumbered mind! Until, of course

that mind sits down at a computer.

Then she enters Hellish dimensions of

QWERTY/logs & protocols, programs

and convoluted strings of what?"

Title: Werking on one...

*

Here's the funny schtuff, with apologies

to Mel Brooks and others:

Somewhere on the desert frontier of

a military installation, Colonel Slim Pickens

rides up on a Humvee to review a tentful

of beleaguered Special Force troops and

its catch of enemy combatants.

Interrogator David Huddleston greets

his Commanding officer...

Interrogator/Major: Jeepers, Colonel, but

these boys don't know any good old werk

songs...in fact, we can't understand a word

most of 'em say at all.

Colonel Taggert/Pickens: Crud! I send you

grunts out here to reconnoiter and subdue

a gang of Insurgents, not dance around like

a bunch of Texas Airmen campaigning for

their Daddy! I am Depressed.

Major: How 'bout i frag one of these...

Colonel: Sheet! We ain't got time for that

and there is that danged Geneva Convention.

Listen, we got a quagmire up yonder and I

just want you to load some of these skulls on

an ox=cart and make 'em lead the next

convoy. Carry on.

[the late Slim Pickens departs the scene]

Shortly, the Interrogator enters a sandy tent

and comes face to face with a local soldier of

the Insurgency...an urbanite Arabic resembler

of the late Cleavon Little.

Major: What have we here? Near as i can

tell, you is the only Combitant 'round these parts

that carries a Wallet...[quotes a License which

reads:] Bart...Habib, al, al~booba...I cain't read

this! Y'all got too many names! I'll jest call you

Habib for now...

Habib: Thanks ya suh! Wouldya like to play a

nice game of Chess?

Major: Homey don't play dat~why don't you just

explain all them cards in that Wallet?

Habib: [placing cards on a makeshift table]

Well, suh, dis here is my foreign fighter card

endorsed and validated in eight countries...

And dat one is my terrorist membership card

from Hamas or Hezbollah, jes the kind of thing

we all get on our tenth birthday---but they don't

wanna hear back from me until I makes a tape

or something...

Major: [glancing at the card] There ain't no

return address on this card!

Habib: Like i just said~return letters to the

Home office in case of self=immolation...

Major: This looks important~a plastic card

from the jerknoid we done caught in a spider

hole a few months back...I could shoot you for

having this on spec!

Habib: Mercy, no---that's be just a Saddam

Loyalty oath, and Massah, she ain't been

notarearised since 1999; Ossifer, Habib do

promise that iffen You hadn't frocefully invaded

this here Dicktatorship, I swear I was gonna

throw dat one away.

Major: And what is this?! [crumpled paper]

Habib: Naturally, that's my Application for the

Florida flight school---I missed Everything but

Date of Birth.

Major: Allright, buddy, I guess I can just put you

on the Oxcart to our next objective...without this

Wallet. Fall out, butthead.

[the Major & Habib approach the doomed

transport to the next objective]

Habib: Excuse me, boss, but i believe the

Colonel wanted only Insurgents on this trip;

Tell a family secret *whispers*...my great

grandmother was Jewish.

Major: GIT on that oxcart!!

*

[readers may correct the entire text]

It was a globo=political ponderance of

current Circumstance...And more=over

it might not be that funny.
